Please note that we seat in parties of 4. In the tradition of railroad dining, parties of 2 will most likely be seated across from another couple. Most of our guests enjoy meeting fellow rail fans. When seated with another couple, you and your guest will be seated on the same side. Larger groups will be seated in adjacent rows. Seating is limited and trains sell out quickly, so make your reservations early!

Every effort will be made to accommodate any special dietary or physical needs. For questions about accessibility of the train, its different classes, or if you would like to be seated with another party, please call the reservations department at 888.724.5748 prior to booking a reservation on our web site.

Royal Gorge Route Railroad ~ Ales on Rails

Ales on Rails is a huge hit, featuring a four-course beer-loving foodie excursion through the Royal Gorge.
Once you’re settled in on our beautifully renovated club cars, you’ll be presented hearty mini entrées — made by our very own Chef Jeff Gaylor, paired with our signature Colorado beer flight. Like almost everything else we serve on the train, the beers and the appetizers are local — can we get three cheers for Colorado?!
The ticket price of $84 for Ales on Rails is all inclusive. If you’re a wine lover, you can upgrade to a wine flight for an additional $20. Our bistro style menu and our full bar will also be available throughout the ride!  *Special discounts do not apply. Must be 21 years of age or older to experience Ales on Rails.

A Four-Course Menu Pairing with SKA Brewing Co.

Colorado Chicken Madeira

Colorado Redbird chicken breast, seasoned and grilled to perfection, then steeped in a sweet, rich Madeira wine sauce with garlic, red onion, herbs and spices, served over Colorado quinoa-rice blend and topped with fresh basil, diced tomatoes and a balsamic glaze drizzle. SKA Pinstripe – ABV: 5.2% – IBUs: 30 – Brewed with caramel malts and cascade hops with a slightly fruity finish.

Pasta Salad over Fresh Mixed Greens

Rainbow rotini pasta with zucchini, yellow squash, bell pepper, onions, celery, carrots, broccoli, cheddar and jack cheeses in a creamy Italian dressing. SKA True Blonde – ABV: 5.3% – IBUs: 20 – A crisp blonde ale, golden in color, medium in body and smooth as gold.

Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail

Jumbo Shrimp, boiled in Court Bouillon (white wine, lemon, garlic and pickling spice), then quickly chilled and served with fresh cocktail sauce and a lemon wedge. SKA Moral Panic Brut IPA – ABV: 5.75% – IBUs 3 – A super aromatic, slightly hazy, but bright IPA with champagne-like dryness.

Smoked Cherry BBQ Pork Sliders

Braised bone-in pork, pulled then simmered in a sweet, smoked cherry BBQ sauce served with fresh rainbow carrot slaw on a mini brioche bun and cheddar cheese. SKA Buster Nut Brown – ABV: 5.3% – IBUs: 18-  A brown ale that has a touch of nuttiness and is incredibly drinkable.
