Dates of Service

Sunday afternoons (12:30 pm departure) March 3rd – May 5th, 2019

*For same day booking please call the reservations department at 888.724.5748*

Please note that we seat in parties of 4. In the tradition of railroad dining, parties of 2 will most likely be seated across from another couple. Most of our guests enjoy meeting fellow rail fans. When seated with another couple, you and your guest will be seated on the same side. Larger groups will be seated in adjacent rows. Seating is limited and trains sell out quickly, so make your reservations early!

Every effort will be made to accommodate any special dietary or physical needs. For questions about accessibility of the train, its different classes, or if you would like to be seated with another party, please call the reservations department at 888.724.5748 prior to booking a reservation on our web site.

Royal Gorge Route Railroad ~ Ales on Rails

Ales on Rails is a huge hit, featuring a four-course beer-loving foodie excursion through the Royal Gorge.
Once you’re settled in on our beautifully renovated club cars, you’ll be presented hearty mini entrées — made by our very own Chef Jeff Gaylor, paired with our signature Colorado beer flight. Like almost everything else we serve on the train, the beers and the appetizers are local — can we get three cheers for Colorado?!
The ticket price of $84 for Ales on Rails is all inclusive. If you’re a wine lover, you can upgrade to a wine flight for an additional $20. Our bistro style menu and our full bar will also be available throughout the ride!  *Special discounts do not apply. Must be 21 years of age or older to experience Ales on Rails.

A Four-Course Menu Pairing with Boulder Beer

Colorado Trout Almondarro

Colorado Trout Filet lightly seasoned and sautéed with almonds, fresh garlic and lemon. Finished with an Amaretto liqueur and sweet butter, served over polenta with roasted red bell peppers. Paired with Boulder Beer’s Buffalo Golden Ale – 4.8% ABV, 20 IBUs – Mild maltiness gives way to a unique floral character generated by a perfect balance on Cascade hops.

Ham and Cheese Pinwheel

Black forest ham, cream cheese, jack and cheddar cheese, red onion, mixed bell peppers, black olives and lettuce, all wrapped up in a spinach and flour tortilla and served on a bed of fresh spring mix with a side of honey jalapeno aioli. Topped with scallions and balsamic glaze. Paired with Boulder Beer’s Hazed and Infused IPA – 5.0% ABV, 38 IBUs – Brewed with a diverse mix of hop varieties, blends a piney, earthy, floral nose with added fruitiness in flavor from the Simcoe.

Grilled Chicken Dijonnaise

Colorado Redbird chicken breast, seasoned and grilled to juicy perfection, served over our Colorado quinoa-rice blend, then topped with our creamy dijonnaise sauce, tomatoes and fresh basil. Paired with Boulder Beer’s Due East NEIPA – 6.9%ABV – a blend of three fuity, juicy hops, with a  double dry-hopped addition post-fermentation for a big hop aroma without the added bitterness.

Open-faced Mini Slopper

Fresh Colorado Angus burger, seasoned and grilled, placed open faced on a mini brioche bun then smothered in our house green chili with cheddar and jack cheeses. Paired with Boulder Beer’s Bump n Rind   – 5.9% ABV, 39 IBU – dark black in color with rich, sweet aromatics and flavors of dark chocolate, coffee and caramel.
