The Royal Gorge Route Railroad hits high season Saturday, May 26 with up to four departures daily, including daily breakfast, lunch and twilight departures – along with First Class Dinner Trains and Murder Mystery Dinner Trains every Saturday night – with Friday night’s launching June 22. The Royal Gorge Route is known for its fresh, energizing breakfast service, and multi-course prix-fixe gourmet lunch and dinner experiences. This summer, the Royal Gorge Route will also feature two very special Wine Dinner Train events August 17 at 7 p.m. and October 13 at 5 p.m.
“We are proud to be launching our 19th season of summer departures aboard the Royal Gorge Route,” said Mark Greksa, owner of the train. “What began with a few coolers and soft drinks on the open-air car has become one of Southern Colorado’s top destination dining and touring experiences for guests from around the world. We are so fortunate to have access to Colorado’s abundance of local ingredients and use as many as we can get our hands on to scratch cook breakfast, lunch and dinner.”
Royal Gorge Route guests can ride in style aboard the Vista Dome, First Class Dining Car, Club Car or Coach, and all of the train’s classes of service offer gorgeous views, dining and full bar, as well as easy access to the open-air car to view the spectacular wildlife, rushing Arkansas River and 1,000-foot sheer rock walls of the Colorado’s grandest canyon.
The Royal Gorge Route Railroad resurrected the historic Royal Gorge rail line in 1999 and has since grown ridership to more than 125,000 guests from across the globe.
