The Royal Gorge Route’s Santa Express Train will run through Colorado’s Royal Gorge Nov. 20 through Dec. 27, bringing more than 20,000 guests to the Royal Gorge Region over a six-week period. This 1.5-hour ride to the North Pole is chock full of holiday cheer, where children wear their pajamas, listen to Christmas stories, sing Christmas carols and enjoy homemade cookies and cocoa. A locally sourced, family friendly lunch and dinner menu, and fully stocked bar is also available on the Santa Express Train. Tickets are on sale now at SantaExpressTrain.com and RoyalGorgeRoute.com.
New last year to the ride, the Royal Gorge expanded the North Pole, adding even more buildings and decorations. As always, the North Pole is adorned like a true Christmas town, and this year there will be 30,000 lights, up from the 20,000 lights in previous years. Guests of all ages will enjoy the views of the Royal Gorge on the way to pick up the North Pole’s most famous resident – Santa Claus. Once Santa boards the train at the North Pole, children await their turn to share their holiday wish list and receive their very special Santa Express Train gift from Kris Kringle himself.
Also new this year, Royal Gorge is offering a greater number of chances to experience this annual holiday treat, with up to three daily departure times. Visit royalgorge2.wpengine.com/special-events/santa-express-train/ to learn more.
