You may reschedule your departure date up to 48 hours prior to your journey with no additional charge. However, rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of departure will result in a ticket rescheduling fee.

All Classes of Service: $10 per ticket rescheduling fee. This option is available up to one hour before your originally scheduled departure.

Rescheduled reservations may not be extended beyond one year from the original date of travel. If the rescheduled date is affected by a rate increase, guests will be charged the difference in rate.

In the event that you do not pick up tickets on the day of your departure and have not called in advance to reschedule, tickets will be forfeited.

Cancellations prior to 48 hours of your departure will incur a $20.00 per ticket fee, the remaining amount will be refunded upon request. Within 48 hours of departure, tickets may not be cancelled or refunded. They may only be rescheduled according to the fee schedule above.

Refunds are not available for special events, such as Santa Express Train. However, we will accommodate reschedule requests per the fee schedule above.

Please note that parties of more than 4 guests may be seated across the aisle or back-to-back. If you wish to be seated with another reserved party (reservation # required), please call Reservations at 719-276-4000 at least 48 hours before your departure. Specific seating locations cannot be guaranteed and changes to seating cannot be made on the day of departure. Unrelated parties will once again be seated together in all classes of service in traditional rail seating.

We’re here to take care of you throughout your journey aboard the Royal Gorge Route. Please let us know at any time prior to or during your journey if you have any special requests or concerns. It is our sincere desire to offer you excellent service.

Our 403 Grill is a casual affair, offering a full menu of scratch-made sandwiches, salads and burgers, as well as vegetarian and gluten-friendly dishes. A full bar featuring specialty cocktails, and outstanding wines and microbrews is open throughout each journey. With the exception of water bottles or food and beverages purchased at the Santa Fe Depot or Happy Endings Caboose Cafe, no food or drink may be brought aboard the train.

Our staff will be present on each railcar to support your safety and comfort throughout your journey. For everyone’s safety, guests must adhere to the following at all times while aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad:

• Shoes must be worn at all times
• No purses or tote bags larger than 10.75”W x 7.5”H x 4”D
• No backpacks larger than 8.75”W x 10.2” H x 5.9”D  (The size of a backpack purse)
• No weapons or ammunition of any kind (includes pepper spray, firearms and knives of any size)
• No outside food and beverage with the exception of one bottle of water per person. Items purchased from the Caboose or Depot are permitted.
• No camera tripods
• No strollers or car seats
• Vista Dome is not accessible to wheelchairs

Service animals are allowed on the train. Emotional support animals of any type are not allowed on the train.

We recommend casual to dressy attire, depending upon your personal occasion. The Royal Gorge Route Railroad offers so many photo opportunities, that many of our guests dress to capture those memorable photos. For safety reasons, in all classes of service, please select comfortable shoes that remain on your feet throughout the trip.

The Royal Gorge Route Railroad is located at 401 Water Street, Canon City, CO 81212. Travel to Canon City via Highway 50, turn south on Third Street, across the Railroad tracks, to the Santa Fe Depot. Free parking is available in multiple connected lots near the Santa Fe Depot.

Arrive at least 60 – 90 minutes before your scheduled departure. It takes an average of 20 minutes to park, pick up your tickets and board the train. We suggest you allow time to enjoy shopping in our Santa Fe Depot and relax in your seats aboard the train prior to departure. Please plan to wear comfortable shoes that remain on your feet throughout the journey.

We are pleased to welcome guests from around the world to enjoy an incredible journey onboard the Royal Gorge Route. Lets work together to make sure everyone has a great time.

Please keep an eye on your children and ensure anyone under 14 years of age is accompanied by an adult at all times. Crying child? We’ve all been there. Please make every effort to soothe your child and or utilize our open air cars as needed to preserve your fellow passengers experience.

You may have noticed that we have put a lot of love and resources into our railcars, please be respectful and keep your feet off of the seats and where ever window coverings are present please ask a staff member should you want them adjusted.

Lastly, our service staff works hard to create an incredible experience, note that gratuity is NOT INCLUDED in your original ticket price. Thank you in advance for taking care of your waitstaff.
